Gregg Tryhus

President/Owner

Gregg Tryhus is the founder and owner of Grayhawk Development. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.

Actively involved with the community, corporate and philanthropic organizations, Gregg has served on numerous boards both past and present. These include: Drivetime, President of the Arizona Golf Community Foundation, past President of the Sun Angel Foundation, member of the Brophy College Preparatory Academy Board of Regents, Young Presidents’ Organization, Life Member of the Scottsdale Charros and a Honorary member of Phoenix Thunderbirds. He has also served on Greater Phoenix Leadership, Helping Hands Housing Services, Thunderbird Charities, former Trustee for Arizona State University, the USGA Junior Amateur Committee, past Board Member of Imperial Bank, Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale, Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation, and the Scottsdale Cultural Council. Gregg and his wife Sally enjoy an active lifestyle that includes golf, skiing, and travel.

Clesson Hill

Vice President of Finance

Clesson Hill joined the Grayhawk Development team in 1993, and since then his business management responsibilities include financial specialties of debt and equity relations, cash flow planning and budgeting, tax planning and compliance, asset management and various aspects of operations.

Clesson is active in the community serving on numerous associations and boards. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and a past president of Valley Partnership and Child Crisis Arizona. He also has served on the board of the Arizona Golf Industry Association, Crisis Nursery and Gabriel’s Angels. He is a member of AICPA and the Arizona Society of CPAs.

Prior to joining the Grayhawk Development team, Clesson was a real estate consultant and manager for the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand.

When not busy at the office, Clesson will be outdoors or spending time with his family.

Taylor Tryhus

Vice President of Real Estate

Taylor oversees and is responsible for various real estate activities at Grayhawk Development. He plays an integral role in the company’s acquisitions and dispositions, underwriting, development operations, and project management.

Taylor graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a BBA in Finance with Honors from the Cox School of Business and BA in Public Policy. As part of his education, he also completed an Alternative Investment curriculum at the London School of Economics. Taylor was born and raised in Arizona and attended Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix before SMU.

Prior to joining Grayhawk Development, Taylor gained valuable work experience as an Investment Banking Analyst at FBR Capital Markets in Arlington, Virginia, and also spent a year in club operations at Whisper Rock Golf Club. Taylor worked as an associate for a commercial and residential land brokerage firm, Nathan & Associates, where his Arizona Real Estate License still currently hangs. Since joining Grayhawk in 2011, he has been involved in and headed several aspects of project cycles at the company.

Taylor is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Valley Partnership, Young Adult Forum of YPO, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Young Professionals Sun Devil Club, among others. In his free time, he is an avid golfer and skier, loves sports and spending time with family and friends, and traveling.

Riley Baehr

Project Manager

Riley graduated from Arizona State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business and a minor in Urban Planning from the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning. Riley began working part-time for Grayhawk Development while attending school and was brought on full time upon graduation. Riley plays an integral role in many aspects of each new project, from design and entitlements to budgeting and overseeing the construction of improvements in the field.

Riley also works diligently for his family’s charitable organization, The Baehr Challenge, which raises funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease research. Riley often attends events hosted by Valley Partnership, Urban Land Institute, The Arizona State Alumni Association, and The Sun Devil Club. Riley is also an avid sportsman and enjoys spending any free time outside.

Chris Harrison

Development & Construction

Chris migrated from Maryland to the Valley of the Sun in 1994 to attend Arizona State University. He began his journey with Grayhawk Development as an intern and transitioned to a full-time employee in 1996 upon graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. degree in Construction. In addition to a fulfilling career, he enjoys architecture, history and music, as well as the many opportunities the area provides for sports and recreational activities. Most of all, Chris cherishes time spent with his wife Cheri, and children.

Chris appreciates the multiple facets of his responsibilities at Grayhawk Development, including planning, development, construction, branding, real estate sales, and customer service. He currently oversees WR Estates, a luxury home project where he serves as President of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Design Review Committee, and liaison to WR Realty. Other notable projects include the development of custom homes and management of a 17-unit luxury Villa project.

Chris maintains a passion for sustainable building and development practice and served on the City of Scottsdale’s Green Building Committee where he was co-chair of Design Day, an annual program to encourage sustainability in the renovation of homes in Scottsdale’s older neighborhoods. Chris currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Baehr Challenge and has served as Vice President of the Grayhawk Community Association and the Retreat Village Association.

Albert Kasperkowiak

Accounting & Finance

Albert oversees Grayhawk’s accounting and finance functions including tax planning and compliance, financial analysis, cash flow planning and budgeting, and various other aspects of operations. Among his credentials, Albert is a CPA. He graduated from Arizona State University with BS in Accountancy and a Master of Taxation.

Prior to joining Grayhawk, he spent 10 years in the Tax Real Estate department with the accounting firm RSM US, LLP. Albert is a member of the Urban Land Institute, AICPA and the Arizona Society of CPAs.

In his free time Albert enjoys playing golf and basketball, and spending time with his family.

Brian Baehr

Senior Consultant

Recently retired from Grayhawk Development in early 2018, Brian was responsible for land acquisition and disposition, and land development operations including master planning, civil engineering and zoning entitlement. He and the Grayhawk Development staff were responsible for the development of the Grayhawk, Whisper Rock Estates, Saguaro Bloom and Vistal master-planned communities. Construction and development costs of the onsite and offsite infrastructure improvements were in excess of $150,000,000.

Prior to joining the Grayhawk Development team, Brian spent 10 years in land planning and development with one of the largest home builders and master-planned community developers in Arizona. During that time, he was in charge of land development for all of the company’s projects in the Phoenix metro area including: Foothills Club West, Westbrook Village, Ironwood Village, Gold Canyon Ranch and Warner Ranch.

Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in land planning and urban design and a MBA with an emphasis in finance. Brian enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Kaye, and three adult sons: Matthew, Preston and Riley. Brian’s son, Riley, has been with the Grayhawk team since 2012.

Brian currently spends his time consulting with Grayhawk Development and staying fit by playing baseball, boxing, golfing and general exercise. Brian also spends much of his time volunteering in the Parkinson’s disease community by raising money for the Michael J Fox Foundation and promoting exercise as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease. Brian and his son, Matt, founded the Baehr Challenge, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, in 2010 to raise awareness about the benefits of exercise.
